SharePoint User Group

The SharePoint user group is a not for profit community initiative designed to promote a greater knowledge of the best ways to administer, developer and use SharePoint. We actively support the work of the group, running meetings at our Nottingham office, providing the occasional speaker, laying on some great food and of course stumping up for the obligatory "sharepint" afterwards.

The meetings are great fun and everyone is welcome. We will be featuring some 2010 content as soon as we can and wed love to see you there!

Environmental Policy

Most organizations today have an environmental policy. You can download them off the internet and upload them to the corporate intranet without much fuss.

That's not the point... Ticking the box on a prequalifying questionnaire doesn't mean your doing anything to protect the planet. At id we have been to meeting after meeting where people have travelled all around the country to attend. Many times the meeting was superfluous, attendance was not required or a simple live meeting or conference called would have sufficed.

At id we practice what we preach. We always try to think through the environmental consequences of our business actions and actively seek to reduce our environmental impact by:

  • Using live meeting where we can to minimize travel wherever possible
  • Cycling to work
  • Recycling in the office
  • Turning off computers

Finally, Windows 7 has a great power saving story. It's already saved organizations thousands of pounds and tones of Co2. We're using it, it's definitely not Vista and wed recommend that you use it too!

Sponsorship & Fundraising

At id we firmly believe that we should "put something back" into the communities we live and work in, both as individuals and as a company. Over the past few years the company's directors have completed numerous marathons, half marathons and other events, raising many thousands of pounds for charities such as the National Kidney Research Council, Macmillan Cancer Nurses, Help the Heroes and more. As a company, we operate a matched funding scheme which tops up sponsorship raise by our employees and fully support their efforts.

Notable recent achievements include more than 1000 raised by company director Anthony Pounder by completing the gruelling Para 10 in support of Help For Hero's and completed the London Marathon for the 2nd time in 2010 with a personal best time

In addition, we seek to directly fund and support local charities and volunteer groups who we see making a difference in our community. Recently we have helped the Kimberley Swimming Club, 'Project 40' and a cultural exchange visit between Southroyd Primary School in Pudsey and Bachpan school in India. We plan to do much more in the future and as our company continues to be successful we are determined to do more to help those in need and less fortunate than ourselves.
